Why do men just expect women to do all the household chores, watch the kids, entertain the kids, cook, and what ever they ask?

These sort of questions come up all the time for me. I wonder why is this country the way it is. Granted we do have a lot of freedoms, but as a women I get tired of men expecting to be taken care of. Then when you are that type of women who takes care of a man, the men take advantage and most of the time they are very cruel and rude.
I may just be speaking for myself but I wish that men would do all the things they expect from women. Men need to learn to be more independent and be less selfish.
